One of our recent MBA-GL grads, Hannah Bertrand, was in Montréal for the recent Canadian Psychological Association Annual Convention, where she presented results from the Mitacs-funded research on hybrid worker job demands and resources that she has been conducting in Dr. Scott Cassidy’s lab.

The project, which sought to categorize the different job demands and resources hybrid workers most frequently encounter – and thematically explore how these demands and resources are subjectively perceived and experienced – was very well-received by members of the Canadian Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (CSIOP) community.

This upcoming Sunday marks the 30th annual National Indigenous Peoples Day, a time to recognize, reflect on, and celebrate the contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada.

To celebrate and learn more about this day, including why it falls on the summer solstice, we've included some upcoming events and resources available:

📆 Sunday, June 21 - the Native Council of PEI will host National Indigenous Peoples Day Celebrations at Confederation Landing Park starting at 11:00 am. All are welcome.

The McDougall Faculty of Business recently gathered to honour and celebrate the life of Professor Tim Carroll, who passed away in December 2025.

Tim made a profound impact on the McDougall Faculty of Business and the greater UPEI community.

Throughout his more than 40 years as a faculty member, he was deeply committed to student success and left a lasting impression on generations of students.

The McDougall Faculty of Business is proud to dedicate our new Student Success Centre in honour of Tim Carroll. A commemorative plaque can now be found outside the space on the third floor of McDougall Hall, recognizing his lasting legacy and contributions to our community.

BUS4550 and IST 6240 were delighted to welcome Dr. Wayne Smith from Toronto Metropolitan University and Matthew Jelley from Maritime Fun Group as guest speakers in our classroom.

During the panel discussion, students engaged in thoughtful conversations about the seasonality challenges of PEI tourism businesses and the sustainability practices implemented within the Maritime Fun Group. The discussion highlighted how sustainability goes beyond the environment—also encompassing social and economic contributions to the community.

Maritime Fun Group shared how they actively give back to the community while engaging with students and supporting future industry professionals.

The McDougall Faculty of Business (MFoB) extends sincere gratitude to both guest speakers for helping our students connect classroom learning with real industry insights.
