Hey Panthers!

Since the beginning of their terms, your UPEISU Executives have been busy meeting with politicians both formally and informally to discuss issues that matter to students, including affordability, tuition predictability, and other priorities affecting the student experience.

These meetings also provide valuable opportunities to build relationships with decision-makers.

So far, they have met with:

-Premier of Prince Edward Island, Rob Lantz
-Member of Parliament, Karina Gould
-Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada, Julie Dabrusin
-Member of Parliament, Heath MacDonald

-Member of Parliament, Sean Casey
-Member of the Legislative Assembly, Tayte Willows
-Mayor of Charlottetown, Philip Brown

Our executives have many more meetings planned, and we look forward to continuing these important conversations with representatives from all levels of government.

Hey Panthers!

Have you always wanted to develop your leadership skills but were not sure where to start? Well, this is your chance!

Your Vice-President Academic, Yoely, has developed the Leaders in the Making program in collaboration with the UPEI Experiential Education Department!

So, how does it work?

Think of it as your very own leadership passport. Each participant will fill out a printed passport (grab one in the UPEISU office, on the second floor across from Tim Hortons in the W.A. Murphy Student Center) with challenges designed to help them step outside their comfort zone, build new skills, and get more involved in their community.

Your challenges will include things like:
-Networking
-Volunteering
-Getting involved in your community
-And more!

Complete your passport, and your name will be entered into a draw to WIN A CASH PRIZE‼️💰 Three participants will walk away as lucky winners! Additionally, you will get a certificate of participation.

And if you are feeling extra ambitious, complete the bonus challenges in your passport to earn additional entries into the draw!

Please note that we are closed on Friday this week.

You can now vote in the UPEISU Fall 2026 Elections on October 13 & 14. This is an opportunity for you to choose which candidates you believe will best represent YOU.

Voting closes at 9 PM tomorrow (October 14) with results announced on our social media channels.

We are aiming for another record-breaking turnout in this year’s election, and we need your support to make it happen. As a thank you, we are giving one lucky student a $100 through a contest. 🤑

-Please note that Panther Patrol will not be operating this week.

-The Panther Pantry (UPEISU Food Bank) will remain open on Wednesday from 10 AM to 2 PM.

The Panther Pantry is located inside the UPEISU Office, on the second floor of the W.A. Murphy Student Centre, across from Tim Hortons.

-The Fox & Crow: Open Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM.

This year, it’s happening on Friday, October 30th, from 10 pm to 2 am in the W. A Murphy Student Centre! 💃🕺

🎃Important information:

-The entry fee is $10 CASH. We recommend coming early so you do not have to wait in line!
-No advance tickets are being sold.
-Please read all three slides for all the information you need to know.
