Training doesn’t stop when your program ends.

Our Day Training Program is designed exclusively for past Chinook K9 training clients who want to keep building on the skills their dog has already learned.
Drop your dog off before work and let us take care of the rest. Their day will include continued training, structured exercise, appropriate socialization, and plenty of mental and physical stimulation.

‼️ Expectation Vs Reality of Dog Training ‼️

Before committing to training for your dog, it’s important to understand the realities of what good dog training can do for you and your dog — and what it can’t do.
Good training will NOT:

-turn your dog into a robot
-fix all of your dogs problems over night
-absolve you of hard work and responsibility
-change your dogs genetics
-make your dog something they’re not

Good dog training WILL:

-give you a clear way to communicate
-give you an effective way to control behavior
-give you a better relationship
-improve your understanding of your dog and their behavior

The goal of training isn’t to create the “perfect” dog. It’s to help you better understand the dog in front of you and give both of you the skills to navigate life together with more clarity, confidence, and control.

Trouble is a 1.5 year old Border Collie x Australian Shepherd who’s looking for a new home!

Trouble is 100% off leash reliable, he’s dog social (although he’ll probably still pay more attention to you than the other dogs) and despite a previous bite incident in his old home and some significant reactivity upon his drop off to us, he has displayed zero signs of similar behavior in our care and has done fantastic with all of the staff and new people he has met during his 2 months with us.

Trouble is a high energy dog, although he has no issues relaxing when his needs are met, he doesn’t make a sound inside or outside of his kennel, and he’s fully house broken. He’s also fully ecollar trained for off-leash reliability and he would make a fantastic hiking partner.

He will require an owner with the time and commitment to meet his needs, whether that’s via a dog sport (agility, disc, herding), farm work or another high energy activity.

I’m confident he would do well in a home with other animals or children with the appropriate introductions and owner education.

This is what the beginning of a 6 week behavior modification board and train for serious aggression issues looks like.

Buddy is 9 years old and has countless bites on his record.

No drills, no reps, no commands, no corrections.

We focus on building a trusting and cooperative relationship, and giving the dogs a purpose before any “training” ever starts.

Whether your dog is here for simple obedience training, or an intensive behavior modification program, it all starts with how the dog feels.

If we can’t change how a dog feels, we will never change their behavior.

Zeus likes to bite people when they tell him what to do, we’re working on it.

He’s a really cool dog and training him has been some of the most fun I’ve had with a behavior case in some time.

We are in search of:

- Full Time and Part Time Kennel Technician
-Able to cover additional shifts if needed.
-Potential for full time opportunity

Beyond learning how to care for and safely handle dogs with varying behavioural issue, you will have the opportunity to get valuable coaching and hands on training experience.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Ensuring the the dogs are fed and watered
* Administering medication as needed
* Providing exercise and enrichment for the dogs
* Ensuring cleanliness of the kennels and the training spaces, which includes removing waste from yard, daily kennel room cleaning etc.
* Basic grooming
* Wellness monitoring
* Assisting trainers in sessions
*taking photo/video updates

We are looking for some who is:

* Passionate about dogs and has an aspiration to grow in the industry; this job could be the first step to becoming a trainer as part of our team
* Confident in handling dogs of varying sizes and temperaments
* Detail oriented and organized
* A self-starter and problem solver
* Excited and open to learn
* Friendly and outgoing
* Physically fit
* Flexible; this job will require evenings and weekends
* Experience with dogs is an asset
