What is the GCSU Queer Caucus? The GCSU Queer Caucus is a student-run caucus through the Grenfell Campus Student Union. We focus on issues relevant to the 2SLGBTQ+ community here at Grenfell Campus. Any member of the Grenfell community who identifies as a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community is welcome and encouraged to join the Qu

eer Caucus. We also hold occasional public meetings, which are open to allies of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. The dates and times of these meetings will be made known well in advance so that any interested parties can attend. When/where does the Queer Caucus meet? The Queer Caucus holds weekly meetings every Wednesday at 4:30 pm in the GCSU boardroom (just off the A&S student lounge). The Caucus serves a number of functions within the LGBTQ+ community and the Grenfell community as a whole. Along with providing a safe space for members of the LGBTQ+ community to meet and support one another, we are an active caucus like any other on campus. We plan and host events and raise awareness of/try to change issues that the LGBTQ+ community faces in the university environment. Why should I join? By joining the GCSU Queer Caucus, you will allow your voice as an individual and as a member of the LGBTQ+ community to be heard. We provide a safe and inclusive atmosphere in which to share your opinions, make suggestions, and create changes that will directly benefit you and other members of the community. By joining the Queer Caucus, you will be helping to create a safer, more inclusive Grenfell, which will be of benefit to all students, staff, and faculty, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. How can I get involved? There are many ways to get involved with us! You can contact our caucus email at [email protected]. You can offer to volunteer for an event or promote said events. You can come to one of our events on campus yourself. Additionally, you can just come to a meeting! We are always happy to see new faces and will gladly answer any additional questions you may have!

As you may already know, Vine Place Community Centre has been selected to become the newest Becket Hub for the province, and we're very eager to share information and next steps with our community partners and all those who may benefit from our services as they shift and expand.

Becket is a Beothuk word for "where you go" and was selected as the official name for all Newfoundland and Labrador Hubs that will be operating under the Integrated Youth Services Model, with Choices for Youth being the backbone agency; implementing, monitoring, and researching the outcomes as they develop. We look forward to providing you with much more information and opportunities to engage, but we are starting by engaging our youth!

Every part of Becket, from the name to the operational plans have been youth-led processes, focusing on ages 12-29. We are thrilled to be implementing a youth-centred model of care, and we are looking for local youth (ages 16 - 24) to serve on our Youth Advisory Committee.

Today, December 1st, marks World AIDS Day. A time when we remember, honour, and mourn those who have been lost and the resilience and leadership of those who are still here and living with HIV. Quadrangle NL remains committed to the ongoing work to improve access to care, ending the stigma surrounding HIV, and improving access to education to build a safer and more informed community.

But of course, it gets even better: to pair with your delicious personalized Genderbread Person, we have hot chocolate for sale as well (plusā€¦itā€™s salted caramel hot choclatešŸ˜‹)
