The NLC Board of Governors is led by people who are dedicated to education.

Over the summer, Jennifer Moore was re-elected as the Board Chair and Sarah Canning was elected Vice-Chair. Both are pictured with NLC President and CEO Todd Bondaroff.

“I’m truly honoured to continue in the role of Board Chair for Northern Lights College,” Moore says. “Education is a vital force in growing and sustaining our communities—it has the power to transform lives and open doors to new possibilities. These are challenging times in post-secondary education, but I believe deeply in the strength and dedication of the entire NLC team.”

Meetings are open to the public, and the next meeting will take place October 16, 2026, in Tumbler Ridge.

Reconciliation is not a single moment. It is a practice. 🧡

On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, NLC Director of Indigenous Education Coline Casey reminds us that meaningful change begins in everyday moments. Learning the correct pronunciation of a nation's name. Attending an Indigenous event. Including Indigenous perspectives in the classroom. Questioning stereotypes when we hear them.

We are all at different points on this journey and that is okay. The NLC Indigenous Education team is here to support you in building meaningful relationships.

We were proud to participate in two inspiring events this September: the Cultural Gathering of Nations Dawson Creek and the Healing the Land Conference 2026, hosted by Saulteau First Nations.

From vibrant cultural celebrations to three days of ceremony, traditional knowledge, and Indigenous-led land stewardship, these gatherings showed the power of community, collaboration, and caring for future generations.
