A hands-on refresher: joint prep, flux, heat control and troubleshooting.
🦺 PPE required: work boots, natural-fibre long pants and a long-sleeve natural-fibre shirt.

📐 Piping Layout Math with Jerry Rise
Offsets, rolling offsets, travel/run and fitting takeoffs.

⚡ Multimeter Basics with Jack Kelsch
Voltage, current, resistance and continuity testing.

🔩 Boiler Maintenance with Brett Timewell
Routine maintenance, inspection points and common troubleshooting for boiler systems.

👨‍👩‍👧 Friends & Family – Intro to Welding with Stephen Nadeau
Bring someone who's curious about the trades! Friends and family of Local 170 members can try basic welding techniques hands-on with a welding instructor.

Today, September 30, we observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This day honours the children who never returned home from residential schools, as well as the Survivors, their families, and their communities. We encourage everyone to take time today to reflect, learn, and wear orange in recognition of Orange Shirt Day.

Indigenous peoples have always been part of the story of our trades. Many Indigenous tradespeople have helped build and shape British Columbia, and they continue to strengthen our industry and our communities. We are proud to learn and work alongside them, and we are committed to walking the path of reconciliation together.

UAPICBC campus is closed today and will reopen tomorrow, Thursday, October 1, at our regular hours.
