The Women and Children's Health Research Institute (WCHRI) was founded in 2006 as a partnership between the University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services, with core funding from the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and supporters of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women. With the support of our partners, WCHRI will foster the brightest minds to discover, innovate and ultimately transform the health of children and women through supporting research excellence.

Healthier communities start with the health of women and children. Today’s announcement of a $93.5-million gift to the Women and Children’s Health Research Institute is a monumental step toward closing critical gaps in care.

This historic investment supports a unique partnership that allows us to address complex health challenges through a public health lens. By focusing on the intersection of women’s and children’s health, we are building a more resilient and equitable future for our entire community.
