The Master of Sustainability at the University of Alberta offers five concentrations to choose from:
1. Climate Mitigation and Adaptation
2. Environmental Policy
3. Collaborative Governance
4. The Built Environment
5. Consumption and Production (launching Fall 2027)

These pathways prepare graduates for impactful roles across public, private, nonprofit and international sectors.

The University of Alberta is gaining 29 of the world’s top doctoral and postdoctoral research prospects, thanks to new federal grants aimed at recruiting international talent to advance Canada’s most important strategic industries.

The Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards provide doctoral scholarships and postdoctoral research awards to support recruitment of top international talent needed to drive innovation and growth in eight priority research areas.

Working to improve the application of AI in interpreting huge amounts of data gathered by satellites, Abigail Azari, an assistant professor in the University of Alberta's Faculty of Science and Faculty of Engineering, wants to help answer important scientific questions about what can affect our planetary neighbourhood, like space weather.

Azari is one of 25 new faculty members focused on advancing AI research, announced last week at the Upper Bound conference hosted by the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii).
