We're pleased to introduce the inaugural Strategic Research Chairs in Arts!

Congratulations to Crystal Gail Fraser (History, Classics, and Religion/The Faculty of Native Studies), Julie Rak (English and Film Studies) and David Rast III (Psychology), who assumed their SRCA roles on September 1.

Created in partnership with the Kule Institute for Advanced Study, the SRCA allows the building of a national or international multi-member research team and the developing of a large-scale, multi-year, interdisciplinary project with graduate student training integrated at its core.

This September 30, we are reminded that today is more than just a day off for some. The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation was created to “ensure that public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process” (TRC Call to Action #80).

With residential school denialism still making headlines today, we know the work is far from over. Today, we encourage you to honour Survivors and their families, reflect on the intergenerational impacts of the residential school system and learn more about how you can help combat misinformation.
