Come meet us this Friday for ice cream social!! It’s a great opportunity to get to know your professors and fellow peers. There will be ice cream (of course) and many games to get to know each other.

Will be held at Sir Howard Douglas hall lawn if the weather is good or the MLC (Math Learning Center) room-Tilley 422.

It’s free for all math students and professors!

Congratulations to our very own Gaia Noseworthy!

Meet valedictorian Gaia Noseworthy!

Gaia Noseworthy will graduate with a bachelor of science and bachelor of computer science with honours in mathematics-physics, honours in computer science and major in statistics. Throughout their time at UNB, Gaia worked as an assistant researcher and later as a teaching assistant as well as a member of the UNB Board, Senate and Student Union. Gaia also founded and lead the UNB Debate Club and served as executive chair of CHSR Community Radio.

📣 Exciting News! Fredericton company Black Arcs is revolutionizing pandemic response planning with their innovative technology 🌍

Their product, Citisketch, simulates the daily life of communities, providing valuable insights on how people move and behave. With the goal of fighting communicable diseases, Black Arcs collaborated with our researchers to create a virtual model of COVID-19.

The collaboration resulted in a powerful simulation system that incorporates real-world details and can quickly analyze multiple scenarios. By adjusting parameters like masking, vaccination rates, and infection rates, the system generates visual representations of how interventions impact the spread of the virus.
