Thinking about going back to school? It’s worth checking whether your employer could help with the cost. 🎓

Take a look at your workplace’s professional development policy, then plan what you’ll ask for. Be ready to explain how the program relates to your work and how you’ll balance work and study.

Even help with one course could make a difference. If your employer agrees to support you, get the details in writing.

Sam Chung (MBA ’22) started his career in engineering. But through his MBA, he began to see how his skills could take him beyond a traditional engineering role.

The program helped him build the skills and confidence to move beyond a purely technical role and into operations leadership.

Today, Sam is a Director of Operations, bringing together the technical, business and people sides of his career.

“I have always wanted to become a good leader — someone who can create positive change, see the bigger picture, and build a culture where people genuinely want to work.”

Our annual in-person town hall last week was a chance to reconnect as a university and rally behind our goal of making life-changing education more accessible to Canadians.

And if you ask us, we’ve got a pretty great team to make it happen. ❤️

When several leaders and staff left the municipality where she worked, Daphne Thomson put what she was learning in her MBA into practice to help get the office back on track.

AI became part of that process, helping her organize information, preserve knowledge and move stalled work forward.

That experience helped shape a new career in AI consulting.
