We are proud to welcome Dr. Sarah Woodruff (MScKin '00) as Dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology, beginning September 1.

As we look toward the future of health, movement, sport, and wellness, we are excited to have Dr. Woodruff's leadership guiding our faculty. Her experience, passion, and dedication to academic excellence will help shape the next chapter of Kinesiology at UNB.

We look forward to the impact she will make across our faculty, university, and community.

As Dr. Wayne Albert concludes his 16-year journey as Dean of the Faculty of Kinesiology, we pause to reflect on the incredible impact he has had on our community.

Since 2010, Wayne has been much more than a leader. He has been a mentor, an advocate, a trusted colleague, and a champion for students, faculty, and staff. His door was always open, his support unwavering, and his commitment to helping others succeed evident in everything he did.

Over the years, Wayne guided the Faculty through growth, change, and achievements, always leading with integrity, humility, and a genuine care for people. He fostered a culture of collaboration and belonging, where ideas could flourish and individuals felt valued and supported.

While he has had many accomplishments, perhaps his greatest legacy is the lasting impact he has had on the lives and careers of those fortunate enough to work and learn alongside him.

Thank you, Wayne, for your leadership, friendship, and dedication.

Wayne will be on a much needed and deserved 1 yr admin leave starting Sept 1 and then returning to teaching in Fall 2027. :) He will be heavily involved in his research program over the next year and you might see him in the Kin hallways. :)

🎓 A huge congratulations to Dominique Drost on an outstanding achievement!

Dominique was named the recipient of the CSEP Award, recognizing excellence and leadership, and was also been honoured with the prestigious UNB Lieutenant Governor's Silver Medal at yesterday's graduation ceremony.

These accomplishments reflect Dominique’s hard work, dedication, and commitment —both inside and outside the classroom. You’ve truly set the bar high and made the Kinesiology community incredibly proud!

Congratulations to Dr. Martin Sénéchal on receiving a University Research Fund (URF) Established Explore Stream award for 2026–2027!

Dr. Sénéchal’s funded project, “Comparing Lactate Elimination and Accumulation across Recovery Intervals in Highly Trained Female and Male Endurance Runners: The CLEAR Study,” will advance our understanding of physiological recovery in elite endurance athletes.

While on sabbatical, Martin Sénéchal has taken his work to Australian Catholic University, where he is spending six months collaborating on world‑class exercise, human metabolism and performance.

Experiences like this strengthen international partnerships, spark fresh perspectives, and push research forward on a global scale. Wishing Martin every success during his time at ACU!
