New data resource worth flagging for anyone in workforce development, HR, or public policy research: Datanb has released a WorkSafeNB / Travail sécuritaire NB dataset covering employment-related injury and disability claims across New Brunswick, including injury type, source of injury, occupation, claim status, and accident date.

This kind of data is a great starting point for exploring occupational health trends, workplace safety patterns, and how workers' compensation claims have shifted over time in our province. At the Centre for Learning Futures, we're always interested in how open data like this can inform research, curriculum, and community partnerships around workplace safety and skills development.

Researchers, students, and policy folks, worth a look: https://www.unb.ca/datanb/data/holdings/worksafenb-demographic-information.html?fbclid=IwcGRvZgFleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETE2VkhYbFpvaHQxQ2JCOGdYc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHq6lrpgERbfoBsooeFXZxb1zIQtg8cQm0FRz80yJIcXe5GGHfYbEPt31KcnI_aem_VOif9xQiJAa8xUPSmSNREA

What can workplace injury data tell us about occupational health and safety in New Brunswick?

The WorkSafeNB dataset provides information on employment-related injury and disability claims, including details such as injury type, source of injury, occupation, claim status and accident date.

Researchers can use these data to explore workplace injuries, occupational health trends and patterns in workers’ compensation claims over time—helping us better understand workplace safety and injury prevention in New Brunswick.
