New Autistic Guide to Healthy Relationships released. This guide was developed by interviewing autistic adults, and with input from autistic advocates and researchers.

Many autistic people experience violence and abuse within close relationships. However, there is currently little understanding about what we can do to a) prevent this from happening, and b) provide better support for autistic people who have been abused.

Based on conversations I've had with young people.

If you hate being autistic, then fair enough- your autism, your choice.

But if you hate being autistic because "kids at school bully me for it", "teachers judge me", "family members disapprove of me" or "I can't hold down a job", then I think it's helpful to know... those bullies, teachers, family members and employers LOVE the fact that you're blaming your autism rather than them.
