Favourite part about the lab: Working with an amazing group of people and having the opportunity to learn new things.

Fun Fact about yourself: I did my undergrad in biology before moving into kinesiology for my graduate studies.

🎉 Congratulations to our MScKin student, Alana Gaunce, on receiving funding through the MSSU Trainee Support Program!

Alana’s research investigates whether drinking kefir daily during pregnancy can support blood sugar regulation, improve the gut microbiome, and reduce the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Through a patient-oriented randomized controlled trial, the study will evaluate the effects of kefir while incorporating input from patient partners with lived experience of GDM.

Congratulations, Alana, on this well-deserved achievement! 👏❤️🖤

Your participation will help advance GDM-prevention strategies for healthier pregnancies.

Plus, you’ll receive free kefir to drink daily until 24-28 weeks of pregnancy and up to $75!
