With immense pleasure and excitement, we would like to inform you that the Association of Indo-Canadians in partnership with the UNB Indian Student Association is celebrating the Festival of Lights (DIWALI MELA) on Saturday, November 15th, 2014 at the UNB Sub-Atrium at 5:30 PM. The evening will be a fun way to celebrate Diwali with family and friends, meeting other people in the community and to welcome all new families and students to Fredericton.
The celebrations will include an authentic Indian dinner along with a 2 hour musical concert by Shweta Subramanian’s band from Ontario (www.shwetasubram.com) featuring Urban and Bollywood music.
Shweta Subram is a highly accomplished vocalist. Her focus is Urban and Bollywood music. Shweta has performed across the world, shared the stage with elite names in Bollywood, featured in various TV shows, and has some prestigious awards to her credit. Shweta has performed with Bollywood maestros Salim-Sulaiman at the prestigious IIFA awards. We encourage you to visit above website to see quality of performances given by her group.
The cost of ticket is $20.00 for adults, $12.00 for students and $10.00 for children’s (age 5-15 yrs.) and can be purchased by contacting following :

Based on past experience, tickets for Diwali mela are sold out very quickly. Therefore, we are going to reserve 100 tickets for our members till Oct. 17. Thereafter, remaining tickets will be released to general public.
****NEED VOLUNTEERS****
On the day of event we will need 15 volunteers to support us at different levels. We request all our members and young adults, who are interested to come forward and register their name by October 31st. All volunteers will be presented a certificate at the end of the program.
