Brian Gallagher will deliver this year's annual Endowed Chair in Criminology and Criminal Justice Lecture, entitled, "It is Time to Speak! MMIWG2S Realities, A Dad's Perspective." The event will take place on Thursday, October 22 at 7:00 PM in the Kinsella Auditorium. During his talk, Brian will share a life altering journey through the process of surviving the murder of his daughter, Megan. This year’s STU Cares Day of Action gave STUdents the opportunity to connect with organizations across Fredericton and learn more about the work happening in their community.

“This experience showed me that STU was the right place for me to create change within the community, especially as a student with a love for human rights,” said fourth-year STUdent Grace Lapointe.

Dr. Pia Kontos will speak about using dance as a tool to support people living with dementia as part of the Dr. T. LeRoy Creamer Memorial Lecture in Gerontology on Monday, October 19 at 6:30 PM in the Kinsella Auditorium.

Dr. Kontos recently co-produced a documentary film called, Dancer Not Dementia, that captures the stories and experiences of people living with dementia participating in dance. During this talk, she will screen the 20-minute documentary and then share research she has done on the power of the film to reduce stigma and improve the well-being of people living with dementia.
