🎨 Explore an exhibition that brings NWP creativity into the community.

Join us tonight for the grand opening of Shape of Shape, co-curated by Laura Marotta, NWP Fine Arts Chair and instructor, and Jessica Groome, Executive Director and Chief Curator at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie.

Featuring work by a range of artists, the exhibition includes cardboard sculptures by NWP students Teagan Skin and Kristy Logan, who have reconstructed familiar handheld objects at approximately four feet in size.

“With materials ranging from paint and ceramic beads to Venetian blinds and cardboard, the exhibition invites viewers to consider how shape operates and how our own experiences influence what we see.” — Laura Marotta

🏐 From Australia to Grande Prairie, Germany and back again, Tom Wheeler has learned a thing or two about embracing opportunity.

He first came to NWP in 2017 after hearing about the Wolves at a volleyball camp in Australia. His approach to moving halfway around the world?

“I didn’t even look at it on a map.” 😄

What followed was five years as a Wolf, an ACAC block record, a Bachelor of Education and two seasons playing professional volleyball in Germany. Through it all, Grande Prairie kept pulling him back.

“My whole adult life has been here. It feels like a second home.”

Today, Tom is building a life around two things he loves: teaching and volleyball. He’s teaching full-time at St. John Paul II School while giving back to the program that helped shape him as an assistant coach with Wolves Volleyball. 🐺💙🩷

And you can catch him back on the Wolves sidelines this fall!
