As a student at NWP you are automatically a member of the Students’ Association and pay an SA fee. What is the Students’ Association and what is my money going towards? The SA is a constituted organization that represents your interests to the college and greater community. The three-member Executive Council is elected each spring and is responsible for upholding and maintaining the policies and bylaws of the Association. The SA is governed by the Students’ Council, which is elected each fall from the student body. Student members have the opportunity to serve as active members on various college committees to ensure student input is provided to college decisions. Contribution of SA fees allows the Students’ Association to offer services such as a Student Health & Dental Plan, Health and Wellness Events, and Advocacy along with various campus activities throughout the academic year.

The Students’ Association is looking to fill the remainder of their Student Council positions! There are still six (6) seats remaining, no prior experience is required, we are looking for current students, enrolled for the academic year, who are interested in leadership and eager to learn the role!

Application packages can be found in the Students’ Association office, open Monday-Friday 9am – 3:30pm, in the NWP cafeteria. Information on the role, requirements, and application process can be found on our website at nwpsa.ca/elections.

Note: this is not an election, students will be interviewed and appointed by the current Council.

Have more questions or want to discuss capacity for the role? Our Governance and Student Support Coordinator, Brooklyn, would love to sit and chat with you! Reach out to them via email at [email protected] and they can get a meeting booked.
