FREE Event this Thursday!

Thorneloe University is thrilled to be hosting Dr. Brian Walsh & Dr. Sylvia Keesmaat, authors of Romans Disarmed: Resisting Empire, Demanding Justice, for a summer intensive seminar, Ancient Wisdom for Living in a Modern Day Empire (August 20-23). On Thursday, August 20 the seminar will kick off with a FREE public lecture, Nourishing Hope in the Shadow of Empire. All are welcome to attend this free evening conversation.

Registration are still open to attend the entire the full seminar for credit ($249) or audit ($99). Special group audit discount rate of $50 for groups of 5+ attending. For information and registration email [email protected].

This spring we spruced up our garden bed near the entrance. We couldn't be happier to see everything in bloom, and we can't wait for you to see it!

We have a few residence vacancies left for Fall 2026 so make sure to get your application in soon if you would like to move in!

We offer a family like atmosphere, we are the smallest residence on the Laurentian University with 58 rooms, all of our rooms are single occupancy rooms, we're the closest residence to the beach, we don't require students to have a meal plan, we have a sauna, and we have lots of movie nights!

Thorneloe University is currently looking to hire a part-time Dean of Residence and Community Partner Liaison. The Dean of Residence will provide general oversight of the residence at Thorneloe University while offering personal support to residents and leadership; and training for the resident assistants (RAD’s). Along with oversight of student life in residence, the position will involve serving as the first point of contact for current and future community partners renting space at Thorneloe University.

Distort Theatre Company is staging their first production “Little Women” adapted by Isabella Russell-Ides in the Ernie Checkeris Theatre at Thorneloe University August 6-9, 2026.

Distort Theatre Company is an inclusive group that cultivates
collaborative learning and meets individuals where they are, advancing creatives at all levels. This is a female-led, non-profit,
educational production company that focuses on youth aged 15-29 and people who are new to theatre.

Some things that set them apart are their accessible rehearsal space, affordable ticket pricing, and flexible delivery of material to best suit their cast, crew, and community.

Thorneloe University is thrilled to be a sponsor of the festival which features a wide variety of Q***r Cinema. Thorneloe is sponsoring the film Litany for Survival: The Life and Work of Audre Lorde, a documentary which powerfully profiles the iconic and influential poet who championed civil, le***an and women's rights.

On this Juneteeth, the documentary will be screening TODAY at 6pm as part of the festival.
