Congratulations to graduating MCOM student Dustin Johnston, winner of the inaugural Creative Industries Expo Media Communications Award!

This award recognizes the Media Communications student in the graduating class who produced the best Client Work Project in the COM1015 Portfolio Development course. Students are expected to solicit real clients with real communications work, and then strategically plan and execute that work throughout the final semester.

Dustin picked up Top Shelf Distillers as a client and managed to produce some of the best marketing/advertising content we've ever seen done by a student (check out just one of them below).

Dustin joined the program 100% virtually from Ottawa and could not attend last night's ceremony in Sudbury--so we'll let his work speak for itself. Congratulations, Dustin--your future is very bright!

Join us in celebrating the remarkable achievements of Neelima Gadde, a dedicated Public Relations student who has been recognized for her exceptional work in strategic communications planning. 🎉

Neelima developed a strategic communications plan for Northern Custom Gifts, a business in Sudbury that is expanding its footprint. She also led a team of students in creating a communications plan for the United Way. Neelima's innovative approach and strategic insight have not only earned her this honour but also the opportunity to present her team's winning plan to the board of directors at United Way Centraide North East Ontario next week. This presentation is a testament to the hard work and dedication that Neelima and her team have put into this project.

Congratulations, Neelima! Your journey is just beginning, and we can't wait to see where your talents will take you next. 👏
