This , we're celebrating Cambrian's exceptional recipients of the 2026 Schulich Builders Scholarships for Skilled Trades! 🎉

These scholarships are made possible through the generosity and vision of The Schulich Foundation and are among the largest of their kind in Canada, providing students with $20,000 for 1-year programs or $40,000 for 2-year programs. The scholarships help cover tuition, tools, and living expenses as they pursue careers in the skilled trades.

Serving up success on and off the court 🏐

Mara Kahl is making her mark both as a student and an athlete. As a rookie on Cambrian’s Shield women’s volleyball team and a Practical Nursing student, Mara is already proving she’s got the drive to succeed in whatever she takes on.

Now, she’s adding another achievement to the list: Mara is a 2026 Ontario Sports Hall of Fame Student-Athlete Scholarship recipient, recognized for her accomplishments both on and off the court!

💡 A little more light, a lot more opportunity!

A big thank you to x-GLO North America Inc. for their generous donation of specialized LED mine lighting, helping to enhance two of Cambrian College’s growing innovation spaces: the Glencore Centre for Innovation and the Vale Electric Vehicle Lab!

These lights are helping our students and researchers see their work a little more clearly (literally!) as students from our skilled trades and engineering technology programs gain hands-on experience, explore new technologies and contribute to innovative research and industry projects.

Gifts of equipment and supplies like these make a tremendous difference. By putting industry-grade technology directly into the hands of our students, partners like x-GLO help us create learning environments that reflect the industries our graduates will one day enter.

Today, we observed National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on and off campus. It was an honour to be involved again this year in the Greater Sudbury Truth and Reconciliation Relay and today’s closing ceremonies at Bell Park.

On campus, we hosted a reflective walk around campus, where we learned more about the legacy of residential schools, but also celebrated Indigenous culture with teachings about the traditional uses of to***co, sweetgrass, sage, and cedar. We encourage everyone to learn more about Truth and Reconciliation.

There’s some new made-in-Sudbury technology in Cambrian’s engineering labs!

Cambrian has partnered with IONIC Mechatronics to design and build 10 new instrumentation workstations for students in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering and Power Engineering.

The stations use instrumentation and components representative of what students will encounter in industry, giving them valuable hands-on experience before they enter the workforce.

Even better? IONIC employees who graduated from Cambrian or teach at the college also helped build them!

Last night, we were thrilled to bring together members of our Cambrian donor, partner and alumni community for a special screening of Back in Black as part of the Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival.

It was a great evening filled with laughs, theatre snacks, prizes and, most importantly, an opportunity to connect with so many of the people who continue to support and champion Cambrian College and our students.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so much fun. We’re incredibly grateful for this community and always enjoy the chance to celebrate YOU!

And, of course, thank you to Cinéfest Sudbury for another fantastic festival and for continuing to bring our community together through film. 🎥
