The OVC Animal Welfare Forum is organized by the OVC Animal Welfare Club (co-mentored by Lee Niel and I). Attached and below you will find the poster for this year's event, on Sep 26. It is strictly in-person, nothing recorded or online. Since it began the Forum has served as a fundraiser for the Care-a-thon Animal Welfare Research Scholarship, which is the only UofG award sponsored soley by a student club, which I find impressive! No doubt some of you will apply for this at some point.

There is (officially) no charge to register - but we encourage you to make a donation of any amount in support of the Scholarship, when you register. For your donation, or even if you choose not make one, a plant-based lunch will be served at no extra cost. You must register to attend though, and space is limited.

This August, Black Veterinary Association of Canada and Canadian VIBE are creating space for Black veterinary professionals and students across Canada to connect, share, laugh, and build community.

Join us for a relaxed virtual social with small group networking, ice breakers, team trivia, prizes, and a chance to hear more about our organizations, what we’ve been up to, and how you can get involved.

Everyone is invited to the 26th Annual OVC Animal Welfare Forum!

Every fall semester since 1999 the OVC has held an animal welfare forum where a variety of speakers come in to discuss topics relating to animal welfare and well-being. This year we are lucky enough to welcome speakers discussing the topics of wildlife tourism, dressage horse welfare, canine aggression and socialization, and the welfare of husky sled dogs.



The forum offers an educational experience while raising funds through donation for our student club-sponsored Care-A-Thon Scholarship. Drinks, snacks, and lunch will be provided throughout the day thanks to our generous sponsors at the AWFC.



We look forward to seeing you there!
