The Department of Political Science is committed to helping students and the broader community understand and analyze issues of power, authority, and governance that shape our lives and the lives of individuals around the world. Our faculty have teaching and research interests in a wide array of subjects within Political Science, with particular strengths in issues in global politics (such as conf
lict, democratization, development); law, justice and politics (such as human rights, judicial process, criminal justice); and Canadian and comparative policy and governance issues (such as environment, health, trade, local politics, e-governance). Studying and discussing the key questions that confront political scientists can help students become better citizens while enhancing their analytical and communication skills. This background can help open the door to many future opportunities.
