Project Serve Reading Week - University of Guelph Project Serve Reading Week: experiential learning at it's best! Volunteer, build community, travel, learn about social justice, & build your resume!

We offer unique learning experiences with opportunities for volunteer engagement and critical reflection on social justice themes. Take part in Project Serve this winter during Reading Week and travel to a community across Ontario, Canada or the United States! In teams, students volunteer in partnership with local community organizations on various projects and initiatives based on the theme of th

e specific program. Program themes include: Aboriginal communities, race and poverty, sexual health education and inner city communities. Integrated within these community-based learning experiences are a variety of learning opportunities; education and reflection components to raise awareness on critical social issues and encourage the development of lifelong civic engagement. Projects range in length from five to nine days. All Project Serve Reading Week programs are substance free.
