Horses have always been part of Caelan Beard’s life, but during her first year of university, something felt missing. 🤔

She enrolled in the Diploma in Equine Studies at SCS in partnership with Equine Guelph - Research Education Careers to complement her riding skills with theoretical knowledge to become a better horsewoman, and found that the online course format worked perfectly for her busy lifestyle.

Through these courses, she found her way to Equine Journalism and now has her byline in some of the most recognizable equine publications in the country. Read more about Caelan's journey through the link in bio!

As instructor of the summer Arboriculture course in the Horticulture Studies program, David Ward's approach to teaching is focused on connecting with his students and sharing a love for trees. 🌲

When asked what advice he would give people considering taking the course, he shared “Nothing to fear, here—we just study and talk about trees for an entire semester. If you want to be part of that process, know that your classmates and I will be pleased that you do.”

In other words: come as you are. Bring your curiosity. Bring your love for the natural world. This is your season to grow. 🌳
