On November 4, 1834 at Williams College in Massachusetts 30 men gathered to form the social fraternity which would later be known as Delta Upsilon. As the sixth oldest fraternity in North America and the first non-secret fraternity, Delta Upsilon set out to be something apart from the others. Built on the ideal of "Justice, Our Foundation," the founding fathers established four guiding principles

for its future members, they are as follows:

The Promotion of Friendship
The Development of Character
The Diffusion of Liberal Culture
The Advancement of Justice

It was then on March 11, 1989 that the Guelph Chapter of Delta Upsilon International Fraternity was founded by 24 men, continuing on the traditions and values of our forefathers.
