Meet the Class of 2026 Valedictorian, Jenna Olsen!

Today, Jenna is graduating with a Bachelor of Journalism with Honours. During her time at King’s, she was editor-in-chief of the Dalhousie Gazette, uncovered tough stories with the Investigative Journalism Bureau, published her work in the National Post, the Ottawa Citizen, the Montreal Gazette, the Calgary Herald and the Vancouver Sun, and landed a coveted spot in the CBC News Summer Scholarship program.

Keynote speaker alert!

This year’s Big Day guest is Madi Irvine, a podcast producer at Podstarter where she helps organizations use podcasting to connect authentically with Gen Z and emerging audiences. She hosts the Charm Diamond Centres–sponsored podcast Ring On It? and produces shows like Mortgage 101 with Clinton Wilkins, working at the intersection of media, community, and audience engagement. Madi has interviewed guests including filmmaker Mike Downie (The Tragically Hip: No Dress Rehearsal) and reality TV and TikTok creators, exploring how stories travel across platforms.

She’ll be at Big Day in Alumni Hall starting at 12:30 on March 27. See you there!

We are off on a road trip for the

This year, we’re talking to Nova Scotians who experienced Fiona’s wrath in 2022. That storm damaged homes, knocked down trees, and brought down power lines. The destruction was extensive.

As one narrator says, telling these stories is bearing witness to climate change.
