Liam Collings has committed to the Mystics men’s soccer program! ⚽

Originally from Sydney, NS, Liam joins the Mystics after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of King’s College and will now pursue his Bachelor of Education at the Mount. As a two-time ACAA champion and the 2025–26 ACAA Men’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Year, Liam will be a strong asset on the pitch this fall.

"I am excited to start this next chapter in my education and athletic career," says Liam. "I’m looking forward to competing with the group and helping the team succeed this year."

Head Coach Guy Edwards adds, "Liam joins our program with a strong track record and valuable championship experience after helping UKC capture the ACAA title last season. He is a talented goalkeeper with excellent composure and professionalism, and his addition strengthens an already competitive environment within our squad. We’re excited to welcome him to MSVU Men’s Soccer."

Alyssa Spridgeon has committed to the Mystics women's soccer program! ⚽

Originally from Whitby, Ontario, Alyssa currently resides in Dartmouth, NS, and brings an incredible mix of academic and athletic experience to the team. On the academic side, Alyssa is a two-time U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian, holding a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Education, and is now pursuing her Doctor of Psychology at the Mount. On the athletics side, she is a goalkeeper and currently plays for the Halifax County United AAA Senior Women's team, with previous experience at Young Harris College, StFX, and Precision FC in the United Arab Emirates Women’s League.

"I am incredibly excited and grateful to be joining the Mystics and continuing my athletic and academic career at MSVU," says Alyssa. "Over the past few years, injuries have given me a different perspective on the game and reminded me how much of a privilege it is to play the sport I love. What stands out to me most about MSVU is the dedication to fostering a positive team culture while maintaining a competitive environment. I am looking forward to contributing to a program that is community-oriented and committed to success both on and off the field!"

Head Coach Jenna Blackburn shares the enthusiasm: "We are incredibly excited that Alyssa has committed to our program as she continues her education at the Mount this fall! Alyssa joins the Mystics with both NCAA and U SPORTS experience, and her veteran presence will be a huge asset to the team. She is a great shot-stopper with a natural ability to provide direction to her backline. Alyssa will bring guidance and leadership into our environment, along with an intensity that will push her teammates to the next level. We're happy that Alyssa is making her return to varsity athletics at MSVU!"

The Mystics men's soccer team is pleased to announce that Aslan Haj Mousa has to the program!

Originally from Damascus, Syria, Aslan is a member of the Halifax HotSpurs Soccer Club. Before joining the HotSpurs, he played two seasons with Suburban FC. Aslan also played three seasons with the Charles P. Allen High School boy's soccer team, collecting a gold medal at the end of the 2024-25 season and a bronze in 2025-26.

A 5'8 winger/striker, Aslan is enrolled in MSVU's Buisness Administration program.

"I’m really excited to be playing for the Mystics at MSVU," says Aslan. "It means a lot to be part of a competitive program. I take pride in being a hard-working, team-first player who’s always looking to grow and contribute in any way I can."

“We’re excited to welcome Aslan to the MSVU Men’s Soccer program” says head coach Guy Edwards. “He is a versatile and skillful addition to our program who brings creativity, intelligence, and a real attacking threat. His ability to play in multiple roles and help create scoring chances will be a major asset for us."

The Mystics Men’s Soccer program is excited to announce the commitment of Noah Baird for the upcoming season! ⚽

A native of Halifax, NS, Noah comes to the Mystics after three seasons with the reigning ACAA champion UKC Blue Devils. He also helped them to a championship win in the 2023-24 season. A 5'9 winger, Noah will begin his pursuit of a Bachelor of Education this fall.

"I'm super grateful for the opportunity to come to MSVU and play for the Mystics. I can't wait to meet the guys, get on the field, and get started," says Noah.

“We’re pleased to welcome Noah to the program," says head coach Guy Edwards. Having competed at the university level with University of King’s College, he brings experience, maturity, and quality in wide areas. A natural winger, he adds pace and attacking intent to the group, and we look forward to his impact.”

Ryan Oderkirk has COMMITTED to the Mystics men’s soccer program! ⚽

Hometown: Beaverbank, NS
High School: Lockview High School
Height: 5’11
Position: Centre Back

Ryan joins the Mystics as a transfer student from Saint Mary’s University, where he earned Dean’s List honors for three consecutive years, and will now pursue a degree in Applied Human Nutrition. Having played with the Halifax Hotspurs for the past 15 years, Ryan is excited to begin his new journey at MSVU, saying: “I’m truly grateful for the opportunity and look forward to growing as a player and a person while making an impact both on and off the field.”

Head Coach Guy Edwards looks forward to Ryan joining the team, saying:

The Mystics Men’s Soccer program is excited to announce the commitment of Seth Peters for the upcoming season! ⚽

Hometown: Sydney, NS
High School: Sydney Academy
Position: Left Back
Height: 5’10
Enrolled in: Bachelor of Arts program

Seth says he is “pretty pumped to play at the next level” as he joins the Mystics following several strong seasons with CBFC, where he earned one provincial championship, and at Sydney Academy, where he helped his team capture two regional titles.

Head Coach Guy Edwards looks forward to Seth’s arrival, saying: “Seth joins us as a versatile, left-footed player capable of playing left back or in midfield. He brings good game understanding, a solid athletic base, and has consistently shown leadership as a captain through the age groups. A sensible, coachable player, we expect him to be a strong contributor to the group.”
