SMU’s own Ian Gaudet is taking the world stage at the 2026 U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships this July—and he’s doing it right here at home!

Between chasing his BSc in Geology and dominating the water as a 14-time Canadian Champion, Ian is proof of what hard work looks like.

His trophy case is already growing with major wins, including:

🥉 2021 ICF Canoe Sprint Junior World Championship Bronze
🥇🥈 2 Gold & 3 Silver medals at the 2022 Canada Games
🏆A series of notable finishes in the 500m sprint event
