Last week, the Co-op & WIL team had the wonderful opportunity of attending the Blueprint for Talent: Work-Integrated Learning Lunch hosted by the Association of Atlantic Universities and the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce. At this event, Mark Patterson, keynote speaker and founder of Magnet, delivered an inspiring talk about the future of AI in the workplace, what that means for us and our students, and how to best prepare our students for the incoming changes. Afterwards, we got to listen to a wonderful panel of individuals that gave us insights into the employer, student, academic, and corporate perspectives of how work-integrated has impacted them in the present and what they expect for the future.

It was inspiring to learn more about the positive effects of WIL and how our team can better prepare students for the workforce.

From May 19-22, our Co-op & WIL Coordinator, Courtney Green, and Manager, Scott Daniels, attended the CEWIL CANADA 2026 Conference: Pathways to Partnerships to explore new pathways and chart bold new directions for the future of work-integrated learning (WIL).

During the conference, Courtney and Scott expanded their knowledge on emerging trends in work-integrated learning, including the growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) across industries. They explored innovative approaches to preparing students for an evolving world of work and connected with WIL practitioners from across Canada to exchange ideas, learn about best practices, and gain insight into how institutions are adapting their programs to meet changing workforce needs.

Courtney and Scott are excited to bring these new ideas and insights back to the MSVU Co-op & WIL Centre to continue enhancing our programs and supporting student success.
