Aren't folks involved in housing co-ops just wonderful?! What a great way to wrap up Co-op Week! 🏡
We were happy to take part in CHF Canada Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada Atlantic Summit in Moncton, NB connecting with housing co-op members, leaders and staff from across the region.

Shout out to Certificate in Co-operative Management alum Jaclyn Johnston for her engaging facilitation and talent for bringing people together in rich conversation.

Great people, thoughtful conversations, and plenty of opportunities to share ideas about leadership, governance and the future of housing co-ops.

It was a great chance to share about the "Co-operative Culture and Living" online course our Centre offers through the Co-operative Housing Management Accreditation program. Registration is open now to begin online in November (or distance learning available for registration anytime).

Ever dreamed of going to Mondragon, Spain to get to know the co-operative sector celebrated the world over?! Our Master's students all get to go on an international co-op study tour BUT......we are about to open up 8 seats to the wider co-op sector for registration into the spring 2027 week-long tour. So it's a great time to get to know the experience, what the tour is like for participants and what Mondragon offers to inspire the rest of the co-op world. This Halifax Area Co-operative & Credit Union Social is a relaxed convening of board and staff members of co-ops and credit unions in the HRM/Kjipuktuk. However, this is our fourth time taking the social GLOBAL by hosting the event in conjunction with the International Credit Union Leadership Program CanadaDE (https://www.smu.ca/iccm/programsandcourses/creditunionleadershipprogram/) happening in Halifax the same week. Credit union minds unite! The World Credit Union Conference hosted by World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) in Sydney, Australia was energizing, connecting and affirming. Community-owned banking is not without it's challenges but there are so many smart and committed people across the globe standing for access, community wealth and financial wellbeing for all. Education Manager Erin Hancock (she/her) MPhil, ICUDE and CanadaDE Facilitator Carlene Frimer, CTDP iCUDE represented the Centre (along with Cathy Statz, ICUDE who led the volunteer crew for the event) and connected with so many cherished colleagues and partners across the sector.
