Sweater Weather Pride Picnic brings the Pride picnic indoors for a more relaxed break during midterm season.

Show up any time between 1-5 pm on Sunday, October 18th, in the Sobey’s Unilever Lounge (4th floor) to make bookmarks out of pressed leaves or paintings, enjoy some board games, solve a puzzle, drink tea, and study. Bring your notes, a friend, or just yourself! Registration is not required.

She is an international student from India chasing a master’s degree, so she knows a thing or two about starting fresh. By day, Ritika is turning data into answers at Saint Mary’s University, pairing a Master of Business Analytics with a graduate diploma in Healthcare Data Analytics. By sunset, she’s outside, head tilted toward the sky, chasing fall colors and scribbling poetry.

Meet RA Matthew! (he/him)

Matthew is a New RA for Rice Residence! He’s a fourth year Computer Science and Business Administration major from The Bahamas. Around campus, Matthew has been involved as a Pack Leader, a volunteer with the Community Food Room, participated in Societies, served on the SMUSA Board of Directors, and is now a SAGA volunteer!

Matthew is very competitive and will jump on an opportunity to play organized sports with friends. His favourites are Basketball and Soccer, but he’s occasionally up for some Badminton.

Outside of sports, he loves to play guitar and listen to jazz. “Jazz is easily my favourite genre, and I’ll probably try to convince you it’s the best genre too”.

Matthew enjoys pushing himself outside of his comfort zone “Running and swimming aren’t necessarily my favourite things in the world, but I do them anyway because one of my long-term goals is to complete a triathlon/Ironman. I’m always looking for something new to work toward and keep me busy”.

In his own words: “I believe you have to make the most of what you have, and if you’re given an opportunity, you should get involved and always say yes!”

Meet RA Lily! (she/they)

Lily is a senior RA for Loyola Residence! She moved to Halifax from Austin, Texas and is now a 4th year Marketing student. You can find her in the Residence Life Office working as a Programming Assistant and helping RAs and Student Group Leaders!

Her favorite food is sushi, but she misses Tex-Mex food from home. Her hobbies include reading, drawing, painting, and watching weird horror movies with her family. Lily loves being there to support her fellow RAs any way she can.
