Today, October 1st, we recognize Treaty Day in Nova Scotia and the beginning of Mi'kmaq History Month.

As a community dedicated to wellness, healing, and care, we acknowledge that our college operates on Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People. The Treaties of Peace and Friendship signed in 1752 did not surrender the lands or resources, but established a blueprint for mutual respect, peace, and coexistence. Today, we reflect on our shared responsibilities to these treaties and commit to fostering an inclusive environment that honours Indigenous history, health, and well-being. We are all Treaty People 💛

In honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, CCMH will be closed Wednesday September 30th.

Today and every day, we remember the children who never returned home from residential schools, and we honour all Survivors, their families, and their communities.

Let us all take this time to reflect, learn, and commit to meaningful action in support of healing and reconciliation for a more just and inclusive future.

Today CCMH hosted an exclusive Lunch & Learn about the art of Therapeutic Buccal Massage, led by the phenomenal Patricia West, RMT.

Patricia taught us that by working both externally and intra-orally, buccal treatment provides access to tissues that are often difficult to assess and address through conventional manual therapy alone. This includes the cheeks, jaw, tongue, floor of the mouth, and associated fascial structures that can influence breathing mechanics, drainage, oral posture, cervical tension, and whole-body compensatory patterns.

Meet Callee!

Callee is one of CCMH's newest Instructors. She is currently teaching our Systemic Anatomy and Pathophysiology 2 (SAP2) class. Callee is a CCMH alum and an RMT at Synergy Physiotherapy and Physio Pilates.

At Synergy, she specializes in pelvic floor and perinatal massage, but also works with many chronic pain, pre- & post-operative patients, and infants too! In addition to working as an RMT at Synergy, Callee also works as a CBS to provide breast/chest and bottle feeding support, and also teaches Pilates.

Callee is passionate about her work as a massage therapist and is so excited and honoured to be back at CCMH!
