Welcome to the Health Promotion Division page. The Health Promotion division is situated within the School of Health and Human Performance alongside two other divisions (Kinesiology and Leisure and Recreation) and within the Faculty of Health Professions at Dalhousie University. The primary goal of Health Promotion graduates is to promote the health and well-being of individuals and their communit

ies. Our graduates are leaders who are committed to developing programs and conducting research to promote health, prevent disease, and inform policy that enhances health and well-being. Students choose our programs because of:

Small class sizes (most classes range in size from 15-20 students)

Graduates of our programs are able to work as health promotion specialists, researchers and consultants in various settings, including health-related organizations and agencies, medical care centre, government agencies, private industry, community health settings, health and fitness centers, consulting organizations, schools and many others. HIV/AIDS prevention
Grief and bereavement
Social and behavioural aspects of HIV and STIs
Health policy and research ethics
The health and well-being of vulnerable populations
Gender and health
Interactional/interpersonal processes in stress, coping and social support
Pediatric and adolescent mental health
Relationships and health
The use of information technology as a source of support and information about health concerns
