This page allows residence students at Dalhousie to connect with one another and get informed about some of the activities and opportunities that await on campus and in the community. We’re here to support you as students in the most healthy and responsible manner possible. After you check in to residence, you can have packages shipped to your front desk. To do this, use the following address format to ensure correct delivery:

Do I need tenant’s insurance? ❓❓❓
Purchasing personal insurance for your belongings is up to you. The university is not liable, directly or indirectly, for theft or loss of personal property due to fire, water, or any other cause. Therefore, just like for an apartment, you are encouraged to have your own insurance against loss or damage to your personal property. You might be covered under your parents' home policy while living in residence. Be sure to check that out before you arrive.

Here are some highlights: ⭐⭐

Complete the Before You Arrive Module in the Residence Application Hub – check your Dal email for instructions if you can’t find it! You’ll also book your move-in appointment at the end of this, so it’s very important and you can’t check in without completing it!

Upload your DalCard photo before August 23 to have your card ready when you arrive.

Set your DalCard PIN online: https://dalcard.dal.ca – you’ll need this for access to many areas.

Order your text books and dorm goods from the Dal Bookstore before Aug 28 and they will be waiting for you in your room when you get here: https://bookstore.dal.ca/dal-ready

Download and print your move-in instructions for your individual building/house from our website.

How does laundry work? ❓❓❓
Each building has laundry available for our residents. Make sure you bring a laundry basket or bag to make your life easier!

A single load costs $1.50 per wash or dry. Our machines only take loonies ($1.00 coins) and quarters ($0.25) for change.
You can exchange small bills for coins at the front desk. 💰

Please note: There is no DalCard payment currently on our laundry, so make sure you have change!
