Are you looking for valuable research experience? 🧬
Are you a team player? 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬
Are you interested in being mentored by a graduate student, research faculty, or medical resident? 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫
Then look no further than STEM Fellowship’s Indicium Research Competition! Members of McMaster’s STEM Fellowship will be arranged into groups of like minded students, and then paired up with a professional mentor from McMaster. Teams will work on a research project throughout the year, and will present their projects at the Indicium Competition in May to be evaluated by a panel of judges for a chance to be published in the STEM Fellowship NATIONAL Journal! 🇨🇦
General applications are now open for all undergraduate students who are looking to start their research careers. No prior experience required! ✏️

- URNCST is releasing an undergraduate case competition, where students get the opportunity for a mentorship with a graduate student and possibly publish their own article in the URNCST Journal

- Recommend co-authoring with peers (up to 5 co-authors are permissible per paper). All of the details are on the website but can ask me further questions https://urncst.com/index.php/urncst/competition + flyer is condensed info

- Promote for more engagement officers! If you have friends or anyone who would be interested to work for URNCST

* The competition and entering a submission is completely free of charge. The only fee in this competition is if/when the authors are invited to publish their articles into the journal.
* The website is fully prepared now, with all of the correct information about the upcoming case comp. But we do ask that you all go through it and let us know asap if you find any discrepancies.
* The competition is running from Jan-Dec, with an annual topic. There is no specific deadline for submissions as of yet. Students can submit an abstract at any point throughout the year on a rolling and continuous basis. We want as many submissions as possible, so restricting the submission period with a deadline may not be ideal

Hey everyone! Just a reminder that STEM Fellowship is hosting a "How to Get a Research Position" event on Wednesday, January 22 from 5pm to 7pm in MDCL 1105!

We have prepared very practical information that we are excited to share with you, including: types of research that undergraduate students can get involved in, how to email professors, summer positions and scholarships (e.g. McMaster Work/Study program, Queen Elisabeth Scholar, NSERC), and the research/publication process!
