May marks Tamil Genocide Remembrance Month and is dedicated to honour and pay tribute to the victims of the genocide perpetrated by the Sri Lankan state.

This month holds profound significance for the Tamil community worldwide as we remember the thousands who lost their lives and the countless others who suffered due to the innumerable acts of genocide committed against Eelam Tamils by the Sri Lankan state throughout the years, and especially during the peak of the genocide in May 2009.

It’s a time for reflection, solidarity, and advocacy for accountability and justice. Let us unite to honor the resilience of the Eelam Tamils, support survivors, making sure our voices and stories are heard. Let us work towards a future where such atrocities are never repeated and self-determination is attained.

Let us come together to empower and recognize the voice of Eelam Tamils to achieve Tamileelam.

On the 4th of August 2006, 53 school girls and 3 teachers were killed as 4 Sri Lankan air force jets flew over Vanni and dropped 16 bombs over Sencholai Childrens’ Home.

Sencholai home was introduced in 1991 to care for children who had lost their parents or were suffering from poverty as a result of the Tamil Genocide. Sencholai aims to give love and care by providing the necessities and equipping children with the skills needed to succeed beyond the home.

However, as the price for food significantly increases in Sri Lanka, the home requests for donations also increased, in order to provide special meals for the children. This is where MacTSA needs YOUR help in showing that we care! Let’s all pitch in to help support our Tamil community.
