Some more pics from the TESOL field school in Vietnam! The program had this awesome trip to study at the Saigontourist Hospitality College in Ho Chi Minh City this past December!
Hear what Michaila had to say about her experience:
βWhile in Vietnam, I cherished my time with the teachers and students of Saigon Hospitality and Tourism College. From day one, I and the other TRU students and staff were welcomed with such kindness and warmth! The staff and students of Saigon Hospitality and Tourism College were a gift. I am so thankful for meeting them. At the college, I observed classes and conversed with the students and teachers. I also had the opportunity to co-teach two classes focused on vocabulary for Hotel Management and Cooking Training. The laughter and joy shared in and out of class were contagious. This was my first field school through TRU. If I could go on another, even if to Vietnam again, I would love to.
A few moments I am fond of were riding on the speedboat and paddle boat through the winding canals and open rivers of Mekong Delta, drinking fresh coconut milk of a coconut for the first time, enjoying the delicious food of Vietnam like Banh Mi and Pho, sipping iced salted coffee on the balcony of TiΓͺm CΓ PhΓͺ Linh 1975 with the other TRU students, visiting the Independence Palace, and singing karaoke with the Saigon staff and fellow TRU students and staff. I am beyond grateful to my mentor teacher, Mr. Anh, to my TRU professors, Dr. Hilda Freimuth and Jason Brown, and my fellow TRU classmates for making this trip so memorable (almost 1500 photos and videos of memories, to be exact!)β
