Congratulations to OC alumna Christina Ferreira (BBA, Marketing), owner of Impact Events and Project Management Inc., on being named to the BC Restaurant Hall of Fame by the BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association! 🥂

Christina will be inducted this October along with 23 other B.C. hospitality leaders and is being recognized for more than two decades of event and brand building across the Okanagan's hospitality, tourism and non-profit sectors.

Fun fact: Christina's degree is one of several OC marketing specialties that are on the accelerated pathway to the Chartered Marketer (CM) designation through the Canadian Marketing Association's (CMA). This means that eligible OC graduates can pursue the CM with fewer required courses, less time to completion and at a lower overall cost than the standard pathway.

Cheers and congrats to Chef Ned Bell on being inducted to the 2026 BC Restaurant Hall of Fame by the BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association.

This honour celebrates individuals whose passion, innovation and dedication have shaped British Columbia’s restaurant and hospitality industry and puts Chef Ned among a distinguished group of industry leaders.

We’re proud to be working alongside Chef Ned to help reimagine food experiences on our Kelowna campus. Congratulations, Chef, on this well-deserved recognition. We’re excited to continue building something beyond extraordinary together.

Enactus Okanagan College has been crowned national champion and will be advancing to the world championships in Brazil!

Enactus Okanagan College has been named the 2026 Enactus Canada National Champion after defeating more than 45 universities and colleges from across the country at the Enactus Canada National Exposition in Montreal, held May 5–8.

With the national title at the entrepreneur-focused student competition, Enactus Okanagan College will now represent Canada at the Enactus World Cup in São Paulo, Brazil, this November, competing against top student teams from around the globe.

Their winning project, Paper Trail, transforms discarded textbooks into sustainable fire bricks, turning waste into something practical, innovative and impactful. What began as a classroom concept has grown into a thriving social enterprise with support from students, faculty and community partners along the way.

This achievement is a reflection of the creativity, hard work and heart that our students bring to everything they do. From national awards to individual recognitions, the entire team represented OC with passion, purpose and an incredible sense of community.

Next stop: São Paulo, Brazil, where Enactus OC will represent Canada at the Enactus World Cup this fall!

We couldn’t be prouder of this team and everything they’ve accomplished. Congratulations to all of the students, faculty mentors and supporters who helped make this moment possible.

We’re excited to welcome Okanagan College alum, Ashley Ramsay back to OC as our new Director of Entrepreneurship in the Hall School of Business and Entrepreneurship.

Born and raised in the Okanagan, Ashley has built an incredible career as an entrepreneur, business leader and community builder. She founded and grew one of Canada’s largest animation studios and has spent years supporting innovation and entrepreneurship across the region and beyond.

Now, she’s bringing that experience back to OC to help shape the next generation of entrepreneurs through exciting new initiatives, including the future Hall Entrepreneurship Incubator.

“Returning to Okanagan College is a true full-circle moment for me,” says Ramsay.

We’re proud to welcome Ashley home and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll have on our students, alumni and community.

Luke Howe, an Okanagan College student and co-founder of Enactus OC's social enterprise Paper Trail, has been named one of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce's Top 40 Under 40 — and it couldn't be more well-deserved.

Paper Trail takes old textbooks that can't be recycled and turns them into eco-friendly fire starters called Fire Bricks — keeping waste out of landfills while creating something genuinely useful for households and outdoor enthusiasts across the Okanagan.

Dr. Kyleen Myrah, Professor at the Hall School of Business and Entrepreneurship, said:
“It is exciting to see Luke Howe recognized for his leadership and community impact. As one of his professors, I have seen firsthand how his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication set him apart. Through Paper Trail, Luke has translated his vision into an innovative venture that tackles paper waste through environmentally friendly solutions. I am excited for Luke and the entire team to showcase their social impact at the upcoming Enactus National Exposition. Congratulations, Luke, on this well-deserved honour!”

Speaking of the team — best of luck to all the Enactus OC students headed to the Enactus Canada National Exposition in Montréal on May 6! You've already proven you belong on the national stage. Now go show the country what the Okanagan is made of. 💪
Congratulations, Luke — and go, Enactus OC! 🎉
