Eager to learn more about teaching, and how she could be a better teacher for her students, Michelle Scranton decided to pursue her Master of Education. For her capstone project, she decided to dive deeper into something she’d experienced firsthand, incivility and bullying in nursing. The statistics, she found, were staggering — up to 95% of new graduate nurses would experience incivility.

Celebrating Rob Johnson's 39 year career at UBC Okanagan!

One of his prouder accomplishments in teaching skills and persistence was teaching his class each year how to juggle. It’s simple enough that everyone can pick it up, he notes, and its often what sticks with people longer than anything else he taught.

“I get more comments about that than anything else,” he says. “People still come up to me, ‘You taught me to juggle and I still can!’”
