Can teleneuropsychological assessments provide results consistent with traditional in-person testing?

The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the shift from face-to-face (FTF) assessment to teleneuropsychology (TNP), allowing clients to complete neuropsychological evaluations remotely from their homes.

RARC researchers investigated whether cognitive and achievement scores obtained through in-person versus in-home TNP assessments were equivalent for youth with neurodevelopmental disorders.

That’s a wrap on the Parent Workshop Series!

Over the last two days, we welcomed parents and guardians of students with learning disabilities and/or ADHD from across Ontario to learn, connect, and build skills to better support their child’s transition through school.

Through this virtual series, parents explored strategies for navigating the school system, supporting their child’s strengths and needs, and helping build a strong foundation for future success.

A big thank you to all the families who joined us and shared their experiences!

The RARC team is excited to share our latest research published in The Clinical Psychologist: “AD/HD Symptoms in Assessment-Seeking Post-Secondary Students: Has the COVID-19 Pandemic Made a Difference?”

This study explores how reported AD/HD symptoms changed before, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our findings highlight the importance of understanding the role of stress, routines, and environmental factors when supporting students with attention and executive functioning challenges.

🎓 That’s a wrap on another successful STEPS Summer Transition Camp!

Last week, we wrapped up our STEPS (Successful Transition from Elementary to Post-Secondary) Program with a fun and informative high school transition camp at a local high school!

Students had the opportunity to explore the high school environment, learn about assistive technology, build new skills, and gain confidence as they prepare for their transition to secondary school. From navigating a new school setting to connecting with peers and practising strategies for success, students took important steps toward feeling ready for the year ahead.

We’re so proud of all the students who participated and can’t wait to see them take on this next chapter!

Our OLTS-Ontario Summer Cohort Has Begun!

Yesterday, our OLTS-Ontario Summer Cohort kicked off with a fantastic group of over 100 students from across the province joining us for our virtual opening day session!

Students had the opportunity to meet their peers, get introduced to the course, and start building the knowledge and skills they need to feel confident heading into post-secondary education.

Through OLTS-Ontario, students will:
✅ Increase self-knowledge and understand how they learn best
✅ Build self-advocacy skills and confidence communicating their needs
✅ Develop strategies for success, including time management and stress management
✅ Learn about their rights, responsibilities, and available supports in college and university

We’re excited to support this group as they prepare for their next chapter! 🎓
