Queen's University School of English Queen's School of English offers international students a variety of English language programs. Queen's University is one of Canada's top-ranked universities.

Queen's School of English programs will help you to learn English while studying at Queen's University, located in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Kingston is a small, historic and safe city about two to three hours by car or train from Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. Students choose to study at QSoE for many different reasons, including university preparation, to learn English for work, or to experience Canadian culture.

If a recent language school closure interrupted your English language studies, Queen's School of English would like to help. We know the past few weeks have been difficult, especially for students far from home.
We are offering deeply discounted rates for our programs to students affected by the recent closures. Every situation is different, so we will work with each student one-on-one to find the best fit.

Through QSoE Volunteer Club, students are collecting new or near-new socks to donate to Kingston community partners who support some of our city’s most vulnerable citizens.

On September 13, Queen’s School of English students had the opportunity to explore the ASUS Orientation Sidewalk Sale along University Avenue!
With approximately 300 vendors representing Kingston businesses, Queen’s clubs and services, and student-run businesses, the Sidewalk Sale was a great opportunity for students to discover what the Queen’s and Kingston communities have to offer. Students could interact with vendors, learn about local businesses and campus initiatives, and even pick up some promotional goodies along the way!
For our international students, events like this are a wonderful way to connect with the greater Kingston community, explore campus life, and experience the city beyond the classroom.
It was a beautiful day to get outside, meet new people, and make some memories!

This week we welcomed our summer 2026 QBA cohort. This course is hyflex which allows students to start online while they wait for their study permit. Onsite students did get a tour Queen's Faculty of Education, Queen's University, The Campus Bookstore at Queen's University and Downtown Kingston this past week. We wish them all the best as they start this new adventure at Queen's. ❤️💛💙
