Ten years ago, The Tragically Hip played their final concert, broadcast from Kingston to millions across Canada. But long before they filled arenas, they were Kingston’s band, with deep roots at Queen's University.
This summer, alumni returned to campus to revisit the places where the Hip first built their following, from Clark Hall Pub to Grant Hall. Kingston marked the anniversary with concerts, tours, tributes, and a rebroadcast of the band’s final show from Aug. 20–22. And this fall, Hip songs will take the stage again in a new musical at the Grand Theatre.
For many alumni, it’s a chance to remember when seeing The Hip play local bars and campus venues was simply part of being at Queen’s.
