This year's wasn't like any before.

A century after the first Homecoming celebration, thousands of alumni and members of the Queen's University community returned to campus to mark a historic milestone.

From catching up with classmates and celebrating reunion years to cheering on the Queen's Gaels and taking part in long-standing traditions, Homecoming 100 was a reminder of what keeps people coming back to Queen's.

What better way to kick off than on Queen’s Day? 🇷🇴

As alumni return to campus, we’re going back to where our story began: the Royal Charter of 1841.

While the fragile original is carefully preserved, a full-size replica has been displayed on the JDUC mezzanine since 1991. Created to celebrate Queen’s 150th anniversary, it was unveiled by the future King Charles III during a royal visit to campus.

Five Queen's University alumni are among Canada's Top 40 Under 40 for 2026.

This year's honourees are tackling some of the biggest challenges and opportunities facing business today, from AI and emerging technologies to climate innovation, international trade, insurance, and financial services.

Together, their work is influencing industries that touch the daily lives of millions of people in Canada and around the world.

Humans of Homecoming

“Lots of doughnuts, lots of coffee.”

That’s what Johnelle Lanham, Sc’05, MASc’07, remembers about the JDUC.

Last year, she and Kendra Hartley, Sc’05, returned for their 20th reunion and their first real since 2007. Their weekend offered a mix of nostalgia and discovery, including familiar restaurants and storefronts along Princess Street.

“We’re just going with the flow, seeing what happens and who’s around,” says Johnelle.
