This past week Horizon Timmins Palliative Care Inc. visited the Medix College Personal Support Worker (PSW) Living Classroom at Extendicare to provide an insightful and impactful presentation to our students.

As part of our ongoing commitment to offering real-world learning experiences, this session focused on the vital role of palliative care in healthcare. It provided our PSW students with invaluable insights into:
The principles and practices of compassionate end-of-life care.
The significant impact personal support workers can have on the lives of patients and families.
Career opportunities within palliative care and the essential skills needed in this specialized field.

Our students left with a deeper appreciation for the critical role PSWs play in palliative care and a renewed sense of purpose as they move forward in their careers.
