Honouring Indigenous Veterans Day Nov 8, as well as National Remembrance Day November 11 Our Indigenous Arts Instructor will be leading a Beaded Poppy Workshop.

This class will be for those who have some prior knowledge of beading.

This class will provide a pre cut template with cabochon center that will have rhinestone banding, and beading. (Photo is an example, final product may be different from what is shown).

Be bear aware!

Bear Awareness and Safety Training is coming to Lac La Biche.

You'll learn North American bear types, bear behaviors, and habitats. You will also learn how to prevent or handle bear encounters and the difference between a defensive bear and a predatory bear. You'll get hands-on experiences with the safe deployment of bear spray and bangers, which is a must when working, walking, or playing in bear country.

Chainsaw operation is no joke - let us help you get certified to do it safely with WTA Chainsaw Safety Training.

This chainsaw safety training will provide you with the skills and knowledge of safe practices required for slashing, bucking, and falling, and the course includes certification with the Woodland Trainers Association (WTA).

You can skid! You can steer! Skid steer operator training is coming to Lac La Biche.

This course offers hands on training in the safe operation, pre-operation inspection, regulatory requirements and general maintenance of a skid steer loader.

This program is designed to familiarize students through practical exercise with the operations, servicing, maintenance, and safety requirements when working with a skid steer. Students are tested on their skill level and either awarded a Skid Steer Basics Certificate or a Skid Steer Operator Certificate.

Give ceramics a spin with our upcoming wheel throwing workshop!

Explore the art of ceramics in this hands-on, two-night studio workshop. Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of throwing on the pottery wheel, including centering clay, shaping basic forms, and developing confidence with wheel techniques. The workshop will also include an introduction to glazing and surface design, with time to paint and personalize your finished pieces.

This class is designed for beginners or those looking to refresh their skills in a relaxed and creative studio environment. By the end of the workshop, participants will have experienced the full process of creating functional or decorative ceramic pieces, from working with clay on the wheel to adding colour and finishing details through glazing and painting. Participants will also get to take their completed creations home as a lasting reminder of their studio experience.
