Last month, KPU's Applied Genomics Centre (AGC), supported by Genome BC, and Molson Coors Beverage Company unveiled a new hops R&D field at Molson Coors' Fraser Valley Brewery in Chilliwack.

The new site will support field trials of hop varieties developed in partnership with the AGC while also serving as a hub for research into irrigation best practices and other innovative growing techniques.

This marks an exciting milestone in the AGC's long-standing hops research program and strengthening collaboration with industry partners, as well as continuing to support the growth and success of locally grown hops in British Columbia.

And of course, the celebration included beer brewed at KPU's award-winning teaching brewery, made with experimental hops developed by the AGC.

🍻 Cheers to innovation, partnership, and the future of BC-grown hops!
