We are reaching out on behalf of the Building Affordable Student Housing in College Towns of Nova Scotia Partnership. This research partnership between Student Housing Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Community College, and principal investigator Dr. Shelagh McCartney from the School of Urban and Regional Planning at Toronto Metropolitan University was formed to learn more about student housing experiences in Nova Scotia in order to build towards student housing solutions.

The purpose of this study is to learn more about the relationship between student housing and holistic student success and wellbeing in Nova Scotia. Learnings will build towards housing policy, program and design solutions that better meet both student preferences and needs.

If you would like to volunteer to participate, you can access the survey by visiting: https://shorturl.at/Ff6RM

Meet Hannah, a candidate for VP Services!

Hi everyone, my name is Hannah and I will be running for VP Services! I’m originally from Amherst, NS, and recently completed a Bachelor of Environmental Studies with Honours & Co-op at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. Now, I am enrolled in Marine Geomatics and working as a Community Assistant within the COGS Campus Housing team.

Why should you vote for me to represent the voice of students in our community? Diverse environments are where I thrive, and therefore, my priority will be to foster that experience for all students while creating a safe space in which everyone is advocated for. As your VP Services, I will be eager to hear all of your unique ideas and perspectives!

Let's go COGS Dogs! Looking forward to cheering on our campus team as they play for the Colin MacLean Memorial Cup!

It's that time!

The 32nd annual Winter Classic hockey tournament makes it's return on February 28th from 8 AM to 4 PM at the Greenfoot Energy Centre in Bedford! Come on out and cheer on your campus as they compete for the Colin MacLean Memorial trophy!

This year our field includes the returning champion Kingstec Crusaders as they look to defend against the Sydney Waterfront Wave Riders (formerly Marconi Moose), the Pictou Bears, the Cumberland Coyotes, the Strait Pirates, the Ivany Sharks, the Truro Titans and the always scrappy COGS Dogs.

Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to join the fun at the rink and it's free to attend! If you can't make it in person, be sure to catch the live stream run by the fabulous Radio Television Journalism students. It's always a great event, and we can't wait to crown this year's champion!
