Hi Mustangs!💜 I’m Maisha and I’m so excited to be running for the undergraduate representative for Western’s Board of Governors!

🌟Why me? As a Science Senator and Academic Leadership Programmer in Western Housing, I advocate for students’ academic concerns📢 and oversee the financial allocation and budgeting for academics and programming, both of which are pillars of the Board. My passion for advocacy extends to gender equality and education in USC’s peer programs (Gender Equality Network and Early Outreach Committee).

My goals?📋 Over the past three years, I have advocated for students’ academic concerns, issues and needs but we must do more, especially in regard to taking action against Gender-Based Violence on campus. I want to steer Western’s strategic objectives to provide opportunities (scholarships/bursaries) for all students, regardless of background, or financial status. 💫

I want to represent YOUR voice, I want to represent YOU in every aspect. In my last year, I want US 🤝 to have a hand at planning Western's future and continue making positive and impactful changes that hold equity, diversity and inclusivity at their core.
