If you see red dresses around campus, each one carries a name, a life, a story.

Take a moment. Be curious. Ask questions.
This is how we begin to understand, remember, and take responsibility.

If you see red dresses around campus, they are not decoration, they are a reminder.

May 5 is Red Dress Day, the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S). The red dresses represent the lives taken, the families left behind, and the ongoing violence and injustice faced by Indigenous communities across Turtle Island.

This day is a time to honour the missing, remember the murdered, uplift survivors, and recognize the systemic issues that continue to impact Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQIA+ people.

📍 Fanshawe Red Dress Displays (May 4–8) will be set up across campuses, including the Aviation Centre, Downtown Campus, London Campus (Kalihwíy̲o̲ Circle), St. Thomas/Elgin, and Woodstock/Oxford.
🎥 Movie Screening: Highway of Tears — May 5 | 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. | Canada Life Village Square

This day can bring up heavy emotions. Please take care of yourself and each other.
